Edie Harper / Remembered

Edie Harper, wife of the great Charley Harper, passed away recently at age 87. While mostly over-shadowed by her husband’s work (who passed away in 2007), Edie led a wonderful creative life of her own, working in a similar, yet distinct style across many mediums. It’s hard to track down good images of her work, but you can see some more here. I found this cool little painting on the Todd Oldham Studio blog. [via Chris Glass]

Amir Zaki / Relics

Beautiful work by Amir Zaki from his series Relics, in which he digitally eliminates the extraneous aspects (such as stairs or ladders) from lifeguard tower photos, giving them an iconic, sculptural quality. On view through February 20th at James Harris Gallery in Seattle.
